The Gruffalo Spotter app is the first development of its kind. The AR app mixes technology with the real world, encouraging children to get exploring, firing their imaginations and enabling them to have an all-new forest experience. The Gruffalo Spotter has been designed for exclusive use at 26 Forestry Commission sites across England.

Silicon Valley: Inside the Hacker Hostel

The real-time VR experience – which is a partnership between Silicon Valley, HBO, and REWIND – takes fans into the home where the show’s main characters live and work. Silicon Valley: Inside The Hacker Hostel gives users firsthand one-on-one encounters with Richard (Thomas Middleditch), Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani), Gilfoyle (Martin Starr), Big Head (Josh Brener) and Jian-Yang (Jimmy O. Yang)

Alien Covenant

Developed to accompany the release of Ridley Scott’s latest entry in the Alien franchise, Alien Covenant: In Utero was a 360 VR experience developed by AMD/Alienware and Fox offers the viewer an opportunity to experience the franchise’s fabled ‘chestburster’ – the birth of a Xenomorph from inside a human being – first-hand. Not for the faint of hearted.

The Chainsmokers Paris VR

Unveiled earlier this year at SXSW, Paris.VR – created by VR specialists Kuju and brand experience agency Ralph Creative as part of Sony’s ‘Lost In Music’ campaign – lets viewers experience a live-remixed version of a track by EDM-pop duo The Chainsmokers. Viewers go on an epic journey through the Grammy Award-winning act’s mind, through dreamlike environments and in a clever twist, can influence remixes of the track based on the choices they make throughout the experience.

From Amazon to Outer Space: a specialist factual masterclass from Alchemy VR

In this masterclass filmmakers, Mike Davis and James Manisty will talk you through the process behind creating two of Alchemy’s most successful VR experiences – Space Descent VR with Tim Peake and Munduruku: The Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon. This session educates on the approaches taken to produce these these two very different experiences; from the challenges of filming in the incredibly hot and humid climate of the Amazon, to developing CG imagery that is so photorealistic it took 100 computers 1 month to render the experiences.

Space Descent VR with Tim Peake

In this 12-minute 360 degree 3D state-of-the-art virtual reality experience, visitors are transported inside one of the most enduring spacecraft of the modern age. Using the very latest in VR technology, viewers experience what it feels like to sit inside the Soyuz’s descent module as it makes its journey back to earth, travelling at speeds of over 7,000kph and reaching temperatures of around 1600 degreesºC.

Munduruku: The Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon

Munduruku: The Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon is an extraordinary experience where users are transported inside one of the Amazon’s most iconic indigenous communities, the Munduruku at the most important moment in their ancient history. The Munduruku are under threat, with the government planning on building a dam on the Tapajos River which might destroy their homeland forever. Considered as the next step in VR storytelling Munduruku combines cutting edge virtual reality filmmaking and multisensory storytelling provides users with a truly empathic, unparalleled multisensory virtual reality experience.

Virry – VR to create emotional connections and awareness

In this masterclass, Svetlana Dragayeva and Martin Percy will show how to use interactivity and VR to drive emotional connection and conservation awareness, as seen in the Webby-winning and BAFTA-nominated Virry VR. With the help of a cast of lions, elephants, baboons and more!
